Visions of Healing Exhibition at Azure Rising Gallery July 2014

When Barbara Bradley Rutz, owner of Azure Rising Gallery invited fellow artist Corina Willette to curate a July show called Visions of Healing the invitation was readily accepted and now you are invited to come along to the gallery at 628 South Main Street, Wolfeboro to enjoy the exhibition.

Submissions from ten New England artists were accepted to be a part of the show , the theme of which each artist represents with a personal interpretation. These artists are:- Carol Whalen, Deidre Scherer, Margery Thomas Meuller, Louise Duchard, Beverly Woods, Barbara Bradley Rutz, Emily Marsh, Peter Abate, Corina Willette and Valerie Schurer Christle.

Deidre Scherer is an internationally known fabric artist,( and also Corina Willetteʼs mother) who specializes in representing universal issues concerning age and mortality.

Louise Duchard, Emily Marsh, Carol Whalen and Corina Willette are all graduates of New Hampshire Institute of Art. Each of these women has a totally different representation of the theme of the show.

Beverly Woods is well know in the area as a person who makes music, now we can see another side of her talents in an intense and colorful display of her paintings.

Margery Thomas Meuller is recognized for her sensitive, painterly pencil works which can be seen at Patricia Ladd Carega Gallery in Center Sandwich during the month of July. Her collaged contribution to this show is a powerful statement of her reaction to 9/11.

Peter Abate, gifted artist has also made a name for himself curating art exhibits at The Gafney Library is Sanbornville, last month celebrating the 100th show that he has curated.He is also a founder member of Garvin Gallery Five in Sanbornville where Corina and Valerie are also permanent exhibitors.

Valerie Schurer Christle has included a hand pieced patchwork wall hanging in the show, an interesting piece comprised of 1670 hand stitched pieces to commemorate the many who have served in war.

Barbara Bradley Rutz has provided a wonderful opportunity for all of these artists to share their work, continuing the journey of exploration through art and giving us all a chance to visit Visions of Healing.

There will be an opening Reception on July 3rd from 4-7

Regular hours are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm-5pm throughout the month of July.
